Visit http://www.denovomagazine.com/ to read our interview with director Adam Hootnick. Hootnick first film, Unsettled. Unsettled is the story of a generation on the front lines of a nation’s battle against itself. When the Israeli government announces that it will withdraw from the Gaza Strip, it meanslifeguards Lior, 21, and Meir, 27, will be forced to leave their home – Gaza’s “Palm Beach” forever. They and their surf posse could be characters on MTV's The Real World, but in the blink of an eye it becomes obvious that the danger is all too real.

Chelsea Emata Interview with De Novo Magazine's Ozzy Neav

Visit http://www.denovomagazine.com/ to read our interview with Chelsea Emata.
Interview Clip

Ozzy: There are very few Asian Americans in the entertainment business. Why do you think that is?

Chelsea: An unfortunate fact, but very true; Asian-American artists are still vastly under-represented in U.S. mainstream entertainment. I remember when I was growing up, I only had the Britneys, the Christinas and the Spice Girl types to look up to as role models. Although we’ve made quite a few breakthroughs in the industry (ie; Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Sandra Oh, etc,) not one single Asian American recording artist has paved a way for Asians to gain recognition in pop music, as of yet. I think we’ve come a long way, but still have far to go. As musicians up their public reach with the aid of technology, independent or major label distribution, I think the likelihood of an Asian singing star is solid! All we need is one successful example, and from that, the record companies will follow like sheep and hopefully start a new, long-overdue trend.

Reichen Lehmkuhl Interview with De Novo Magazine

Visit www.DeNovoMagazine.com to read our interview with superstar Reichen Lehmkuhl.
Interview Clip:

Moreno: I have read so many thank you notes and messages from your fans and readers who have found your book so inspiring. What has been your reaction to the book’s success?

Lehmkuhl: I’m glad that the book has had such success mostly because it’s opened so many minds to what our U.S. Armed Forces really does to our LGBT&Q service members and to the U.S. Taxpayer when they put people in our community through court martial proceedings and, ultimately, ruin their lives, careers, and years of hard work and dedication. I won’t stop speaking up about these issues until “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” has been abolished. Once it has been overturned, I will start fighting to have our LGBT&Q service members who were affected by the past policy monetarily compensated by our government for the human rights abuse they underwent under the atrocious policies that hurt them under “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” and the ongoing ban on gay people in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Senator Mike Gravel Interview with DNMs Andrew Moreno

Dear Readers,

It is with great pleasure that we share with you our interview with Senator Mike Gravel. We encourage all readers to express their voice by voting on February 05, 2008.

Interview Clip:

Moreno: What do you see as the biggest obstacle facing America today?

Gravel: The biggest obstacle facing America is the idea of our nation acting as an empire. We go around the country and sanction people to go to war, justified or not, like Vietnam and now the Iraq War. Dwight Eisenhower warned us about this with the Defense Industry. [Eisenhower states, "'In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes."]In effect, this is why the media and corporate society has worked over-time to silence my voice and keep me out of the debates. I wish to end the military-industrial complex.
